PHILISTIA (PALESTINE). Gaza (?). Mid 5th century-333 BC. Drachm (Silver, 15 mm, 3.68 g, 10 h), imitating Athens. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette. Rev. AΘE Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig and crescent; all within incuse square. Huth 11 var. (differing style). Gitler & Tal IX.1Db var. (differing obverse style). Very rare and in exceptional condition. A perfectly centered and very well struck piece. Slightly rough, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
